Mallet

I made a wooden hammer (mallet) with hand tools. The project was part of a local course in craft woodworking - meaning you are not allowed to use any electrical tools. Over the span of 5 evenings, we practised (hand)planing, (hand)sanding, measuring with marking gauges, glueing, oiling, and joint making. The handle isn't glued to the mallet head; it's shaved with a slight angle and jammed when sliding it in from the bottom.

Okay, we cheated a little bit and used a band saw to shorten the hand planing of the mallet head. Other than that, it was basic woodworking as people have been doing for centuries. Pretty happy with the result!
